Family letters 1863, 1884. 1963, 1884.

The two letters in this folder were loose in one of the Thomas H. Jackson, Jr., scrapbooks. In the letter dated 8 Feb. 1863, Lucy Price of West Chester, Penn., wrote to her father, describing a whaling tableaux panorama of a Captain William which she had just seen; she noted that this was the longest letter she had ever written. The letter dated 20 Jan. 1884 is from the mother of 7 month old Thomas H. Jackson, Jr., to the infant's great uncle, Dr. Pusey Heald, of Wilmington, Del. She wrote it as if it were in the baby's words. The letter contains family news.
